Witch Hat Icon

This is an example of some of the steps that I follow when creating an icon. How I start out with a base design I like and add or remove various elements to alter it and find the design that I think most fits.

For this one, it's different patterns that I tried, and taking what I liked or didn't like from each variant and transferred that to the new one. For this one, I really liked the star pattern, but because this element needed to be kept simplistic, it was the base icon for a pattern that I would, later on, create for a sock--the star pattern would be too difficult not capture on the fabric when created. Since I liked the star element I took that and implemented that into my design in various ways. Changing the bell I had at the end of the hat to a star instead. And of course tweaking the positioning of that to whatever looked the best, leading to the final product, a cute witches hat icon!
